ProNails

So I got my nails done yesterday at this shady little shop in the sort-of-ghetto. I always think they do the best jobs and they're always reasonably priced for starving students trying to stay fly. lol. Shit was still crowded 8pm! Linda, my manicurist, did a wonderful job keeping her patience with my indecisiveness on trying to choose colors and designs. But when all is said and done (my nails) looking great till the SECOND I walk out and smudge them against my purse! Clumsy me. Aww Hell. Nothing a little black nail polish touch up cant cure.

To Dread or not to Dread

For those of you who know me, its no shock that you might be a bit concerned with my decision to dread my hair. For those who don't, you should know that I change my hairstyle pretty compulsively and for me to get bored/frustrated/annoyed is not unlikely. But let me start out by saying that dreads is not just a dope ass hairstyle. Theres a ton of patience, effort and commitment that goes along with that, which I admit I'm sometimes lacking. But I feel that this may be a way to practice and improve weak traits in myself.

I cant even tell you how many times I've heard people tell me that I always look different, and sometimes not even recognize me. Granted, its a good thing to be able to pull off so many different looks, but at this point in my life I need things to be consistant. I've definitely weighed the pro's and cons of this choice and educated myself on the process and maintenance involved to end up with wonderful looking dreads. But y'all know me. Doesnt really matter what anyone says, when I'm set theres pretty much no going back.

Now with that said, let me give some of you dread haters a little 101:

YES I will be able to wash my hair. Doing so is how they get pretty and soft. :)

NO I wont have to cut it all off when I'm decide not to have them any more ( Ill just have short hair, which again, isn't unusual for me, lol)

YES my job could care less.

and NO NO NO I'M NOT A DIRTYHIPPIE BURNOUT!!! By any means!
I'm doing this for myself, not to make any sort of statement of being a stoner, being biracial (holla!) or vegan or etc. Nor am I trying to make any political statements. I'm just trying to be me, and loving myself and natural hair in the process.

Danielle Polanco Aka Danielle [House of] Ninja is probably one of the most influential dancers I've ever seen. This girl is nothing short of fly. Shes got style, attitude, technique and is sexy as hell. Shes pretty much what I wish I was (Ive already got the sexy part down lol)But forreals, at 22 shes already created herself quite a resume dancing in videos for Janet Jackson and Omarion. Shes also an elite voguer at the House of Ninja in NYC.

You need to know who this girl is. Be obsessed wit me lol
